FireFox-1280

Firefox is one of the most customizable browsers on the web today, with many available addons which can do just about anything. We’ve looked over the thousands of available addons and have listed the top five which provide the most functionality when it comes to using Firefox.

  • 1. AdBlock Plus – There’s nothing worse than going on a website and getting bombarded with flashing ads which assault the eyes. AdBlock Plus can take care of this, with the simple click of a button. Once it’s installed, it’ll subscribe you to an ad blocking database and ads will be a thing of the past.
  • 2. Down Them All – The traditional download manager that comes with Firefox is nice, but it’s got nothing on Down Them All. Down Them All lets you download certain elements of a web page or all of them, all in a convenient window with pause and resume.
  • 3. DownloadStatusBar – For those of you who don’t like the download window being separate, this addon places a small status bar at the bottom of the window which contains all of the downloads you’ve made You can choose to clear one download or all of them, though it doesn’t support pause and resume very well. Plays nice with Down Them All.
  • 4. FastestFox – FastestFox was formerly known as FasterFox and has the unique ability to provide a search bar right above any highlighted text on a web page. It supports all major search engines and Wikipedia, which is a great feature if you find yourself constantly looking things up on Wikipedia.
  • 5. Stylish – If you’ve ever wished a website layout was different, then Stylish is for you. It lets you install scripts which alter the layout of many of your favorite websites, or if you’re savvy enough, you can create your own.
